This one is being posted a little out of sequence. In an earlier post I mentioned that we had received a drenching storm that took out power to 41 streets in our area and blew out our oven, a couple of ceiling fans and microwave, as well as (we later discovered) the pensioner across the street's uninsured refrigerator, next door's air conditioning and a few other things around the neighbourhood.
Well, a couple of weeks later, Mr. Rain was back with a vengeance though thankfully it did little damage the second time around. I decided to use it to take a shot of the bus stop that can be seen in the background except... that didn't give me the effect that I was hoping for or looking for.
Accordingly I changed tack and decided to do a bit of shooting of motion blur and tail lights on the wet road.
Nope, still not quite right.
So I just decided to use it as playtime. It may not be obvious but aside from the selective colouring (which I decided to do in various different places instead of drawing attention to just the one spot) this shot has three different brightness / contrast adjustment layers on it. A universal one pumps the contrast just fractionally. I pumped the contrast on the T intersection sign on another one, as it had been blown out by the car's headlights. The third one brightens and pumps the contrast on the Keep Left sign but I used a flow of only 50% when opening up the mask to keep it from becoming too garish.
