Beautiful plant. I love flowers, but I always manage to kill them.

A really nice photo of the violets. Pretty plant.

After 7 days, I can well understand why they look a little tired, but still very, very (V for Very)nice.

Thank you, Liz. And yes, I saw the damaged leaves, but assumed that had happened since it was judged - which was as much as 7 days earlier. Some of the poor plants had withered quite a bit - I'm not sure that any of them were watered once dropped off. And people do tend to touch things at the Fair, even though they shouldn't. :/ In any case, thank you for the nice comments and the info.

Perfect for the Challenge. Nicely composed and good color.

Lovely blooms on this plant. Unfortunately many of the poor leaves aren't in the best shape. Still a perfect subject for "V". Really great find.

There was a time in my life when I grew African Violets for very serious show competition. I have won National Awards for getting the MOST blue ribbons (close to 350) in a single Calendar Year. Judging at AVSA shows is a lot more strict than that at County Fairs. That's why I noticed the leaf problem that others may not. For an everyday house plant, however, this is sure a pretty one. African Violets are close to my heart.
