One can only imagine the deep, philosophical pondering going on behind that gaze. "I wonder if they have any meat? If they have some meat, how can I get them to give me some? I can do that big, sad eyed, hungry dog stare, sometimes that works. But what if they don't have any meat? Hmm, maybe they'll take me for a walk instead. Then I'll raid the cat's food bowl..."
