This is probably James Tylee {1750 - 1826) A pioneer in the manufacture of cigars and who was a leather inspector from about 1792 and opened a shoe store in about 1802. He was the father of James Tylee Jr {1795 - 1836} who was one of Austin's colonists and a defender at the Alamo.
