(Theophilus Elsworth - 1748 – 1838 – A great grandson and namesake of one of New York's earilest settlers. Served with the New York State Line Militia in S. Carolina and was captured by the British. Held on a prison ship in Charleston Harbor and then transported to Englind where he was confined to Mill Prison in plymoth and was not released until about a year after the war's end. Upon returning to America he moved to Charleston, S. Carolina where he and his wife instituted the first foster care system in that state and fostered numerous children. Baker by trade he established a bakery that the site of which was still a bakery until 2005 +/-. After his wife's death in 1827 he returned to New York where he lived to the age of 90.)

(James W. DePeyster {Feb 23, 1745 – Feb 12, 1812} affluent early New York Merchant of Dutch ancestery, A British Loyalist, he left New York for Curacao during the American Revolution
returning in the mid to late 1780s. He owned James W. DePeyster's and Co, an import company.
