This was our first full day in Louisville. There is a lot to see. The only slight difficulty is that there is a massive road construction project going on downtown and rush hour traffic can be very bad, especially if you don't know what lane to be in. The good news is that there is plenty of parking and the things we wanted to see downtown are easy walking distance.

So, we started into the museums. The first was the Frazier History Muuseum which was interesting. They had an nicely done display of firearms wherein they wove a story of the gun's place in time. We also stayed for a presentation of Big Nose Kate, who was Doc Holliday's girlfriend at the time of the famous shootout at the OK Corral in Tombstone, Arizona.

Right across the street is the Louisville Slugger factory and museum. This was pretty cool. All the Louisville Slugger bats are made here. We had a tour and saw an automated lathe make a bat in 40 seconds. In the old days a fellow with a model and a pair of calipers would stand at a lathe for 30 minutes working to make just one bat. In the museum they had this Infinity Box which was a cool illusion with mirrors. That is today's photo. Pretty cool.

We wandered down the street to the Evan Williams Experience for our first stop on the Bourbon Trail. It was fun and we had a tasting. Tour and tasting, that is what the Bourbon Trail is all about. Should be fun.

We were going to walk over to another thing to see. The weather was getting threatening, so I suggested we go get the car and not take any chances. Good call. Just as we got inside at the parking garage, the rain let loose and it rained like hell for about an hour. We shuddered to think what it would have been like if we were out on the street.
