IN CELEBRATION OF THE QUEEN'S 90th BIRTHDAY
Burton salvation Army corps organised a special afternoon tea for members and friends. Guest of honour was the Mayor of East Staffordshire Councillor Beryl Toon and her Consort James Toon.
After a delicious tea served by Salvation Army members, the Mayor went on to present each guest 90 years old or over with a commemorative coin and a celebratory tin of biscuits. Eight ladies each received a gift and them Major Mike Loveridge, the commanding officer of Burton Corps presented the Mayor with her own coin.
This event was followed by an evening service which embraced the counties of the UK in music and song. Everyone agreed it was a very special and successful way to celebrate the Sovereigns 90 years.
