With those large, shaggy ears and Roman nose (and that miserable frown?), this guy is a male.
We found him in a small River Red Gum tree along a dry watercourse through drier tropical woodland in north Queensland.
This is at the far northern limit of the Koala’s range and a part where the species is rarely reported – probably because both Koalas, and the humans who might report them, are sparse.
