Patrimonio

Corse, France

Nestling at the foot of Sant'Angelo, 5 kilometres from the port of Saint-Florent, the little village of Patrimonio lends its name to the most charismatic vineyard in all of Corsica.

Patrimonio is not only the leading appellation of Corsican vineyards; its natural environment also makes it one of the most beautiful wine-growing villages in France.

This fertile region has been renowned since ancient times for its vines, olive trees and goats-cheeses. It is called Nebbio and it is a vast, mountainous amphitheatre facing the sea where menhir statues discovered in 1964 indicate its prehistoric occupants. Formerly a Genoan territory, Nebbio's name is derived from nebbia meaning fog, which often settles there on early mornings in the winter.
