Yes, it was indeed a crop. I didn't bring my macro with me for the outing. :/ And we really didn't have much time there - just about an hour.

How lovely is that! Yes the flowers do look like popcorn...but I LOVE the beetles.

I agree with Dale that it does kind of look like bugs in popcorn. Interesting how you used your super zoom lens with this shot rather than your new Macro Lens. DOF is good. Was this a crop?
