Several rangers are preparing for a training trip on the Koyukuk river. This picture is in the gear cache, where equipment is stored for ranger patrols. A ranger, an intern and I spent a Sunday afternoon putting together two Ally canoes. Each canoe fits into a duffle about 3' in diameter. It's greatest attribute is it fits in the baggage compartment of an airplane.
