On the first evening of the drive home we stayed in Bakersfield. For dinner we decided on burgers from the nearby McDonald’s restaurant. It was only a block away so I walked there, cutting through the parking lot of a closed restaurant and this Mobil station. The quality of this hand-held photo amazes me: I am easily amused.
In May 2016 we returned home, taking three days to drive 1550 miles. Summary of the drive home:
Day 1: Maricopa, Arizona to Bakersfield.
Day 2: Bakersfield to Weed (at the base of Mt. Shasta).
Day 3: Weed to Renton.
