An azulejo is a type of earthenware tile that since the 15th century was usually decorated with figures and then glazed before becoming an architectural element.
This art form was introduced in Portugal by the Moors. This blue azulejo called Niche Faďencée is over the Porta da Vila city gate in Óbidos.
