Now this close encounter blew me away. I am always out looking for burrowing owls to photograph. This particular day I was parked next to a gated fence when all of a sudden this little fellow flew from nowhere and landed on the gate. He/she turned to me and softly said, "chirp," looked up and back at me flew off. I just happened to have my camera but I sure couldn't grab it fast enough.
