April 20

Sugar Land, Texas

Another dark, rainy day. Flooding all around us, but our immediate area is safe and dry.
More rescues on the news, human and animal both.
Oyster Creek is higher than I've ever seen in the 30 years I've lived in Sugar Land.
Thankful that our levees are holding.
They say it is a 500 year flood event.

Unfortunately I think that 500 years is going to roll around more often than every 500 years. We seem to be moving into a "new normal" for weather where the one thing about it is that "nothing is normal".
I like the softness of the petal in contrast to the sharpness of the stamen here.

I hope the flooding isn't too severe. This is a marvelous photo. So beautiful. V
