A lavish dose of contact cleaner finally got the control panel of my Canon G11 working again. its a good little camera, but I now wonder about Canon's build quality..
My Canon EF 24-105 L IS USM lens needed £250 of work to repair. It had only very light use and was well looked after. My Canon G5 camera control wheel fell apart inside. Luckily just inside the warranty period. That was looked after very well also. The auto focus stopped working on my EFS 18-55 IS II lens just outside the warranty period. So I am a bit worried about Canon build quality as well. I think this is a symptom of modern times. If there is a camera manufacturer whose products never go wrong I have not heard of it.
