Not sure what this one is yet. It does not look like a Buckeye nor a Fritillary.

Very nice capture and beautiful composition and lighting. Hmmm...I would have thought it to be a Painted lady. An "American Lady?" Learn something every day. Thanks Dale.

Thanks Laura. It is almost an American Painted Lady but because it has only two big circles under the wings, the butterfly is apparently an "American Lady". The "Painted Lady" would have four smaller circles on the underside. You sure helped me figure out this one so thanks very much.

A beautiful shot of this lovely butterfly, Dale. I like the purple flowers it's on too. I'm pretty sure it is an American Painted Lady. ;)
