Friends had told us about the Manatee Viewing Centre at Tampa Electric.
Water that is used to cool the power plant is discharged back into a canal.
This warm water becomes a haven for the manatee when the water temperature in Tampa Bay is below 68F.

They really are strange looking beasts. I really like the last picture with baby and adults.
