Major's corner

atop the toilets at one of Ipswich's key road junction, the council commissioned this statue, the Major was apparently Joshua Major who held a shop nearby and was a surveyor in the C17th http://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/news/ipswich_icons_joshua_major_the_namesake_for_major_s_corner_altered_the_course_of_water_and_history_of_ipswich_1_3948503 . The statue is in steel by local sculptor Paul Richardson

Quite an amusing statue with the fly swatter and fly (I assume), and a well composed capture of it.
