University Tower - Bristol Section above entrance

PBasers day out - with Mark, John, Dave & myself.
The Wills Memorial Tower of Bristol University is in Queens Road, At 215 feet, it is twice the height of the Cabot Tower and much more solid and grandiose.
The tower, designed by George Herbert Oatley, is constructed from Bath and Clipsham stone.
Officially opened by King George V in 1925, the Wills Tower has been called the last great Gothic building to be constructed in England

In earlier times many people believed that the extreme height of the cathedrals in their communities brought them closer to heaven. This POV really conveys the magnificence and size so beautifully. Very imposing and impressive with superb detail as it reaches skyward. Voted+
