Conspiracy by Albert Babatunde, Acrylic on Canvas, 2013 is work that explores the socio-political dimemsion of Ghanaian (West African) African society. This particular painting focuses on the Traditional systems of Leadership where village elders are constantly discussing the issue of de-stooling one perticular chief in order to install another one. Chieftaincy disputes are a great source of creating wealth for contemporary elders in Ghana. The painting classically depicts the image of traditional elders from northern Ghana or northern Nigaeria.
Albert Babatinde: is a ghanaian artist of Nigerian origins. He has been working with AZIS and other northern Ghanaian artists who have come to settle in Nima or the the Zongo areas of Accra. They are mostly responsible for the street art festival known as as Chalewotte which is becoming a an annual festival in in Accra. One their main activist is Baba Musah Swallah.
