Equipment:
William Optics Megrez 90, f/6.9 with 4x Powermate (FL 2,484mm approx.)
Losmandy AZ-8 mount
Hutech Modified Canon 40D
1 x 1/100 second exposure (chosen from 80 frames) @ ISO 250
PIPP (Planetary Imaging PreProcessor) for image quality ranking
Registax V6 for wavelet sharpening & Photoshop for further processing
Using the 4x powermate on the 90 mm telescope increases the focal length (FL) such that the moon no longer fits into the frame of the canon 40D. The idea is to capture the bottom and top half of the moon separately, then in post processing, mosaic them together to create a full moon disk. The red colour of the moon in this image is due to the Hutech Modified Canon 40D, which extends the red wavelength sensitivity (not necessary for this exercise but very useful when capturing the Ha transmittance of nebula in other projects).
