I took this photo in absolute dark ,it was cold and windy and i used a torch to focus on the truck right at the front .I took this road it was a snowy hill with the hope for the Aurora .Wrong because the light from the radar would kill the exposure and second as soon as we arrive it started to snow ,so no hope this night .

It looks as if you weren't the only one to try this location from the looks of all the tire tracks in the snow! You didn't manage the shot you were after but did achieve a really nice image anyway, just of a different kind. I love the realisticness of this image!
