An incredible beast, the English Electric Lightning F.6 XR727/AB of 5 squadron at Bierset in 1987, its last year of operations. Built as an F.3 in March 1963, a few years later it was upgraded to F.6- standard (with the larger belly tank). It was retired in early 1988 and flown over to RAFG Wildenrath for BDRT. XR727 was scrapped a few years later.
