Rovinj is a fishing village on the Istrian Peninsula. It was originally an Italian settlement and for many centuries ruled by Venice or Italy. Part of it's history it was under Austrian rule. It was ceded to Yugoslavia in 1947. It is officially b-lingual - Italian and Croatian.
