11.1.2016 A Lad In Slane

Woke up this morning to the sad news that David Bowie had died.
I always liked his music although I couldn't call myself a fan in that I didn't own all his albums or follow his career obsessively, but he was always there in the background.
I was lucky to get a guest pass when his Glass Spider tour came to Slane Castle on July 11, 1987. Ensconced in the VIP area with my OM10 and a 50mm lens, this was best shot I could get!

Interesting to see this. I wasn't a massive fan of Bowie but he was part of the soundtrack of my teenage years and early adluthood.

I don't actually know much about him, just his name, but this would seem a fine way to remember him.

clever title that hints at the one CD of his on the home shelves...Bowie certainly made his mark...that generation (particularly Bob, Keith, and Jeff) will all soon pass on, sad losses to the classic rock canon..

I can't say that I was a David Bowie fan; however, he was entrenched in the R&R world that we all grew up in in the 70's & 80's. I'm surprised at how many songs of his that I liked, yet never knew he was the singer!
Great capture and remembrance Margaret! :)

A nice little slice of history here. I really liked David Bowie in the 70s and 80s and I did have a couple albums, cassettes and I just loved him in The Man Who Fell To Earth movie.
