Ice-fishing is winter fishing at its most traditional. On Finnish ice-fishing waters – in wide open mid-lake areas or bay heads –
anglers can ideally experience such peace of nature and peace of mind that is difficult to find anywhere else in the world.

Ice-fishing falls within the scope of public rights of access, which means that you don't need any licences to go ice-fishing.
At some point in their life, almost every Finn has sat by an ice hole, ice-fishing for perch, the national fish of Finland.
Many have got such a bite on the end of their lines that this has kindled a lifelong spark for fishing.

A very pleasing scene of a national pastime. Those concerned about safety likely haven't been to Finland! V

The shadow striations enclose the fishermen and it adds to the scene.

Another amazing photograph Anitta you have done it again
I have to agree with what Alan K has said .
I am not sure if you were on the ice yourself but I would be reluctant to venture out there .
I just cant imagine the ice would be thick and safe.
The composition to the tree lines, the shadows, the blue cold, the cabins and amazing trees and the men all make this superb photography.

Beautiful directional lighting and a fine subject matter. The colorful men capture the eye but the lovely frost covered shoreline and trees completes a beautiful composition. Well done, Anitta. Vote.

I love the lines of light and shade running from front to back in this; not just across the ice but the trees as well.
Not to mention the overall coldness of the blue... save for those two spots of vibrant colour.
I'm not sure that I'd have peace of mind out there so much as an ongoing concern about the ice cracking and giving way. I like air and land, not water. Certainly not water that is a couple of degrees off freezing. Not to bathe in, anyway.
