Gentoo Penguin (Pygoscelis papua)

Whalers Bay, Deception Island, South Shetland, Antarctica.

A pristine Gentoo after having 'taken the waters' on Deception Island. Here there is fresh water heated by volcanic activity, the island itself is an active volcano.
