I left East Texas yesterday around 2:00 in the afternoon and it usually takes me 2 1/2 hours to get home. However, due to having to pull over to take cover because of tornados while coming through Dallas, my trip actually took me over 5 hours to complete. I got home safely and had to come through back streets in order to get home. The highways were all backed up so I cruised into downtown and then through the Stockyards. I live about 6 miles from here. The wet brick roads in this area looked cool with the rain so I got a couple of pics as I was stopped to turn.
We have seen crazy, wacky weather! Warm Christmas, tornados and flash flooding yesterday, flash flooding today with quite a bit of hail this afternoon and now we're getting sleet and snow! I've had sporadic power today but I have a fire built in the fireplace, a nice cozy pallet on the floor and will camp out tonight in the living room as I know the power will be going out again soon. I decided to take advantage of the power I have right now and download some pics and check my email.
I don't get too riled up about anything especially when it is something you can't control. So, make the most of bad situations. I'm just happy I made it home safe, my family is safe as well as my friends. I do know a few people who have lost everything but everyone is okay. That's the most important thing.
