43 how fishermen decorate

from a distance I really did think someone had put Christmas tinsel on a branch overhanging the Puyallup river. not so! i wonder if this was just poor casting skills by dozens of salmon fishermen in fall (it's called combat fishing around here) or, more likely, lost lines and lures washed downstream in recent floods to be caught on branches, made visible when waters receded.

'Tis a shame as birds and other fauna can get caught in the lines particularly around their feet. I guess not if the line is decorating a tree.

Well seen and captured, and very cleverly titled.
