GIFT of the MAGI ALE - The Lost Abbey - San Marcos, California

12% ABV - This full bodied Biere de Garde (malty French Saison) starts off with with an aroma of bread, some seasonal spices and bit of barnyard funk courtesy of the yeast. The initial taste is a bit of apricot and raisin as well as hops. Caramel malt, additional pit fruit and lastly a bit of wood round out the flavors. There is an alcohol bite present but surprisingly subdued for a beer this strong.
