It felt good to reach Grandview Point. We had done it! It felt like a real accomplishment. We weren't completely out of the woods though because we had to get back to our car at Lipan Point, about 13 miles away. We managed to catch a ride with a nice French couple on their honeymoon and we were finally back to where we had started. We were only 2.5 miles from Desert View Watchtower so took a drive out there to catch a bite to eat and visit the tower (one of my favorite spots at the south rim).
