Since I was in the local area, I briefly visited West Wittering beach on the Sussex coast. This was a favourite for our family when I was growing up - it was the nearest beach to us and it was a good sandy one. There's little else there - a cafe that sells a few beachy things and that's it.

First time I'd been there since about 1970 and very little had changed! Plus, I'd never been there in December before.....
