"TARKINE" North West Tasmania

The Tarkine region is a remote area in North West Tasmania. Ravaged by bushfires that can burn for weeks its heath and Eucalypt covered hills and mountains have learned to adapt and recover from such onslaughts. One can drive for several hours out here and see no houses, no cars, no sign of any civilisation. This is True Wilderness only surpassed in these parts by Tasmania's south west where you have no hope of seeing any one else on the roads or tracks as they do not even exist down there! The north west is home to some unique species where the Elusive Tasmanian Devil still reigns and Wombats Pademelons and Wallabies abound! It would not surprise me if the Tasmanian Tiger was rediscovered here one day.

I hope you had some navigation equipment Shane, looks like it would be quite easy to get
lost here. v

Certainly a wild area, it looks a great area to visit.
