Salpinctes obsoletus

This Rock Wren was entertaining to watch bouncing around on an Ocotillo during our November trip to west Texas. I spotted him as we were driving and was pleased that he hung around long enough to grab a quick shot from the front seat of the car. I am often amazed by how these wrens can live in such dry places. It is my understanding that they are able to get all of the water they need from their food and rarely drink water.
