Colosseum

The Flavius amphitheatre is the biggest and most imposing in the Roman world, but is also the most famous monument in Rome.
Started by Emperor Vespasian of the Flavia family, it was opened by his son Titus in 80 A.D.

This is a different angle to what I'm used to for this building; a nice piece of original thought.
I envy your chance to spend so much time in Italy. later this year I have four full days in Rome. Just four. In that time I hope to hit many of the spots that you have in your galleries, which I find a useful guide to some photo ops. And, of course, one must take the time to not just shoot, but stand there and get a feel for the place; how it smells, how it feels, how it sounds, how it looks beyond the viewfinder. I think too many people just point, shoot, and think "I've ticked that box". Shots like these suggest thinking about the subject a little more and experiencing it, not just capturing it.
