You'd like to think that it was abandoned because there were no more disabled children to use it, but one suspects that unfortunately that may not have been the reason. I can imagine the sounds of laughter that may have once emanated from that pool, as a relief from a challenged day to day life...

Another fine image recording the ongoing decline of this once great city. Vote.

Unreal how much of this is around! Very nicely documented.

Strong documentation, it has an eerie feel to it with the open doors, boarded up windows and that toxic looking pool water. The diffused lighting adds to the gloom. "V"

A great POV for this powerful capture. How sad that such a camp has been abandoned. V.

It tells a sad story on a very gray day.

This is a very strong image. The cloudy sky and leafless trees help to set the mood. I really like the reflections in the water. V

I was wondering about the ramp to the pool... then I read the caption. Sad to see it in disrepair. I'm sure there were many happy memories created here in the past. V

graphically potent scene rendered poignant by the caption info...this must once have been a special place for disabled kids..
