It was a cool morning at Delta Ponds. It almost looked like this Oregon Junco was taking time to test the water before taking a bath. I have seen them during the last few visits. They winter in the Pacific Northwest and elsewhere.
According to National Geographic, "The “Oregon” junco breeds in the West Coast states north to southern Alaska and east to central Nevada and western Montana; it winters throughout the West and Great Plains and is casual to the East." - http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/birding/dark-eyed-junco/
