The Market Street Café and Grocery has a long history. The current store building was built in 1948
from the lumber of a large turn of the century abandoned house, located outside of town. It was a
mercantile/grocery store for the first 35 years. Originally owned by the Marvel family and then the
Looney family purchased it. In 1982, the store was turned into a local café/grocery store. It is
currently owned by the Wilson family and has remained a hub of the community for the past 67 years.
