Harar was established in 1520 and is the center of Islam in Ethiopia. The walled in city has seven ancient gates leading inside the city. There are 360 alleyways throughout the city leading to markets and homes. Quite charming. During Ramadan they all paint their houses and outside walls so alleyways are quite colorful!
