A melanistic subgroup of the Eastern Gray Squirrel. Or, as I learned in genetics many moons ago; same genotype but different phenotype of the E. Gray Squirrel.
What makes this interesting; other than the Fall background colours; is the tiny green insect adhering to one of the squirrel's whiskers.
