We went to Tombstone, Arizona today. It was a lot of fun. We took a walking tour with the guy pictured. It was very interesting. Tombstone was a big mining town while it lasted. It became famous for the Shootout at the OK Corral. An event that has been emblazoned in history. Mostly in fiction. The whole thing lasted only about 30 seconds with three bad guys (depending on your point of view) being killed in the confrontation. It turns out that it didn't actually happen at the OK Corral, but close to it. Wyatt Earp was the only one unhurt. His brothers Virgil and Morgan as well as Doc Holliday were wounded. It has been grist for all sorts of movies and TV episodes, even Star Trek. We did all the tourist stuff and had a great time. You may think it hokey, but remember that we are easily amused.

We were there a year ago, saw the same thing and had a good time in a place we thought would be just hokey, but was informative and well worth visiting.
