Looking towards the Galactic centre, this attractive group of nebulae (NGC6559 and friends) sit in a rich star field near the famous Lagoon and Trifid nebulae. It's the birthplace of a new star cluster about 5000 light-years away, and contains a mix of red emission nebulae and blue reflection nebulae, The dark dusty cocoon that gave birth to the stars is also in view, and other dark nebulae hide parts of the scene, such as the 'S' right of centre. In the background lie thousands of stars of the Milky Way's Bulge.
