This was our last full day of the photography course in Arches and Canyonlands. We traveled down to the Needles District of Canyonlands to take pictures in the morning and to have a picnic lunch. The weather was good. We have had good weather for the entire course. Although there were many good photography targets, there weren't the ones that you see in Arches and Island in the Sky. You know, the iconic shots like Balanced Rock and Delicate Arch.
At the end of the day we had a great dinner at the Sunset Grill. This is the former mansion of Charlie Steen, a man who made a fortune mining for Uranium in the area. The place is high atop the cliffs overlooking the town of Moab and the Colorado River. The sunset was quite nice. After dinner we returned for a showcase session where everybody got to show their favorite three pictures from the course. There were many good photographs and some excellent ones as well. Today's photo is one that Ginny took at Devil's Garden. I consider it one of the excellent ones.
