War. Portrait of the ruSSia

acrylic, canvas
48" x 48"
2015

Impatience breeds hate, hate breeds war, war breeds hate, and there is no end.

In the center of the painting the canvas is torn – a bloody wound, that symbolizes the well of hatred. The wound is pulsating and from it, like a tsunami, radiate blood-circles.

Two infinity signs, filled with skulls and torn limbs of the victims of war, cross in the center and create the frightening “flower of war.”

The “flower” and the “tsunami” together create a symmetric decorative composition that resembles a bullseye. As long as people are shooting, the well of hatred doesn’t ever go dry.

This never-ending process has to be stopped. People have to be cured from the disease of hatred. The “needle of love” on the painting has already started stitching together the tear-wound. The painting is interactive – every guest at the art show is welcome to take the needle and make a stich. Humanity has to cure the wound and forever forget about hatred.
