We flew into Edmonton late Friday night and stayed at the Renaissance Hotel right at the airport (very convenient and a nice hotel). We left Edmonton Saturday morning and stopped in Jasper to pick up some groceries, a gas canister for our camp stove, and bear spray. We also grabbed waited a long time for some sandwiches from The Other Paw Bakery and Cafe. The food was tasty (and the boxed lunch a good value), but it did take some time (or as Steve would say "Let's see some hustle!").
We drove about an hour west of Jasper to the visitor center at Mt. Robson to pick up our permit and register. The visitor's center has a selection of books and maps for sale, friendly staff to answer questions, lockers for valuables, and some nice exhibits downstairs. The trailhead isn't far from the visitor's center and we found a grassy spot to organize and pack our backpacks. Then finally it was time to start our hike. Here's Norah ready to rock and roll!
