In the Courtyard of Entokuin

Higashiyama, Kyoto, Japan view map

Entokuin is a Zen Buddhist temple and sub temple of the nearby Kodai-ji. During the Higashiyama Hanatouro both Entokuin and Kodai-ji are lit up and it is possible for a fee to go inside them at night. Most of the year these temples are not open at night apart from the 10days of Hanatouro and some other special occasions. During Hanatouro it's possible to either buy a ticket to see just Entokuin or a combined ticket which lets you see Entokuin, Kodai-ji and a small Museum.

This photo was taken during my 4th visit to a Higashiyama Hanatouro. That occasion was the first time I used the Nikon Coolpix P7100 and light weight tripod. I liked that combo for Higashiyama Hanatouro so much that every Higashiyama Hanatouro since then I've used the same combo.
