The Woods Brothers Companies, which were formed in 1889 in Lincoln by Mark, George, and Frank Woods, played a major role in the real estate
development of the city. Many of the first Lincoln neighborhoods, including Lincolnshire, were platted, developed, and sold by the
Woods Brothers Companies. Designed in 1914 by the Woods Brothers Construction Company and completed in 1916, the building incorporates
Neo-Classical Revival elements. It was the home office of the Woods Brothers Companies until 1939.
