Nightblooming Cereus
by Rosemary Woods

Nightblooming Cereus - Peniocereus greggii - cactus plant that only blooms at night. Despite exif data saying no flash, I indeed needed to use flash to get this shot. By sunrise the next morning the bloom was already closing up and wilting.

Canon EOS 70D
1/250s f/10.0 at 50.0mm iso400, Sigma 17-50mm 2.8 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Beautiful flower AND an amazing one!!! I love how this cactus flower only blooms at night. You did a good job of capturing this fleeting moment in time.

Oh, that's gorgeous, Rosemary! It is such a delicate and beautiful flower. You did a super job with the exposure too.
