When we hit the road this morning for a sunrise shoot at Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National Park, it was pretty clear that it was going to be a bust. There was light rain; definitely a bad sign. We set up to photograph with a bunch of other people, and sure enough it was a bust. The next stop was Dead Horse Point. Dave said it was something not to be missed, and he was right. There is a great view of a bend in the Colorado rover and whopping cliffs all around. The sky had started to clear, but the sun was spotty. Luckily, we will have another chance in a few weeks. Today's photo is from the rim at Dead Horse Point.

Lastly, it was on to Monument Valley and Page, Arizona for the night. The visitor center at Monument Valley provides a great view of some of the major formations. I dawdled around for quite a while waiting for the sun to light up what I wanted to shoot, and it eventually happened.
